# LCT - Map Widget

The Map Widget allows the display of both **Last location** and H**istorical locations** (Dynamic Location Type) of the device on a geographical map.

 Navigate to the Cockpit Menu, go to the Devices section, and locate the desired LCT device. Click on its name to open the device dashboard.
2. **Add a Map Widget**:\
 Click on the **+ Add Widget** icon in the top-right corner of the device dashboard.
3. **Select the Map Widget**:\
 From the widget options popup, choose the **Map Widget**.
4. **Configure the Map Widget**:
 * **Display Options**: Choose to display the last known location or the path history of the device.
 * **Time Interval**: For path history, define the timeframe using the calendar tool, select predefined intervals, or set a custom timeframe.
5. **Save the Configuration**:\
 Click **Save** to finalize and display the configured Map Widget on the device dashboard.

### In Dynamic Position Type

Within the **Dynamic type**, the **Map Widget** includes a settings icon in the top-right corner of the widget card. Users can use this feature to adjust the timeframe or define a custom timeframe to visualize the position history or trip of the device.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.g-iot.io/low-cost-tracker-full-device-guide-book/low-cost-tracker-greater-than-giots-functions/lct-device-dashboard/lct-add-widgets/lct-map-widget.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
